Uis Beka Buluh Sebagai Tanda Kebesaran Putra Karo Pada Masyarakat Desa Budaya Lingga, Kecamatan Simpang Empat Kabupaten Karo

In this study, the focus is on the meaning found within the Uis Beka Buluh, which is considered a symbol of the greatness of the Karo tribe, especially among men. The Uis Beka Buluh holds significance and meaning in every line and color, making it intriguing to examine. The purpose of this research is to understand the Uis Beka Buluh not only as a piece of cloth but also as a symbol of pride for Karo men and the meaning embedded within it. In this study, the author employs a qualitative ethnographic approach with the aim of providing a comprehensive description of the Uis Beka Buluh, considered a symbol of greatness for Karo men. The findings of this research reveal that the Uis Beka Buluh is one among various Uis found in Karo society. Every Karo man possesses a Uis Beka Buluh, but it can only be worn on specific occasions and cannot be used in daily life. The colors of the Uis Beka Buluh represent the identity of the Karo people, which they continue to uphold until today.
