Abstrak

This study aims to explore and analyze the implementation of a problem-solving approach to enhance student participation in the Pancasila Education course at STAI UISU Pematangsiantar. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving both students and the course instructor. The findings indicate that prior to the implementation of the problem-solving approach, student participation was relatively low, with students predominantly engaged in passive activities such as listening to lectures. After the approach was applied, there was a significant increase in student involvement, as evidenced by their active participation in group discussions, problem analysis, and solution presentations. The problem-solving approach allowed students to relate the values of Pancasila to current social issues, while also enhancing their critical thinking skills. However, the study also identified several challenges, including time constraints, difficulties in group collaboration, and the need to strengthen students' understanding of basic Pancasila concepts. Overall, the problem-solving approach was found to be effective in improving student participation and reinforcing the application of Pancasila values in daily life. This study recommends further development of problem-based learning strategies in future educational practices.
