Understanding the concept of Mafhûm is crucial in comprehending the Qur'an and is an important study in the sciences of the Qur'an ('Ulûm Al-Qur'ân). Without Mafhûm, one would struggle to grasp the text and context of its verses. Mafhûm is divided into Mafhûm Muwâfaqah and Mafhûm Mukhâlafah. Mafhûm plays a significant role in providing evidence (hujjah), helping to establish rulings from a verse and can serve as a proof. However, scholars have differing opinions regarding the use of Mafhûm as a proof, leading to debates among them.
